Yorkshire Terrier Allergy Supplements
Yorkshire Terriers are among the most allergy-prone toy breeds — skin allergies, food sensitivities, and chronic ear infections are common. Their fine, silky coat (which lacks the undercoat of other breeds) makes skin inflammation more visible but also more susceptible to environmental allergens. Their small size requires careful dose calibration.
Yorkie allergy supplement stack — small-breed doses
- Omega-3 (EPA+DHA) at therapeutic dose: 5–7 lb Yorkie: 100–200mg EPA+DHA daily. 10-lb Yorkie: 200–400mg. Small breed — small dose, but therapeutic proportion still matters. Most large-fish-oil capsules require splitting; look for small-dog formulations.
- Quercetin + bromelain: Small-breed dose (quercetin 50–100mg twice daily for a 7-lb Yorkie). Reduces mast cell histamine release driving paw licking and skin redness.
- Probiotics: Particularly important for Yorkies given their elevated rates of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE). Gut-immune calibration also reduces the systemic allergic threshold.
Bundle with Digestive Care for Yorkie gut-immune support.
